Dr. Vijay Jain available

Dr. Vijay Jain, M.D. Florida, USA brings more than 30 years of experience in General Surgery and 10 years of focused study of integrative medicine to his engaging integration of traditional/Western medicine with ancient medicine and well-tried systems of healing from different cultures. He has studied mind/body medicine with Dr. Deepak Chopra, MD; yoga therapy from Vivekananda Research Center in Bangalore, India; courses in Ayurveda medicine with Dr. Sunil Joshi in Nagpur, India; and courses in Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil in Tucson, AZ.  In addition to his surgery practice, Dr. Jain lectures on Ayurveda principles and practices and how to create optimal health. Recently, he has become interested in the science of graceful aging as it relates to holistic practices. At present, Dr. Jain is the Medical Director of Amrit Ayurveda for Total Well-being and conducts all Panchakarma programs. He is a founding director of International University of Yoga and Ayurveda. Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla
Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla, BAMS, MDAYURVED, LMT, Pennsylvania, USA is a classically trained Master Ayurvedic Specialist (Vaidya), licensed integrative bodywork and massage therapist, registered yoga instructor and certified Pranic healer who has been practicing and teaching Ayurveda worldwide since 1988. His passion and love for Ayurveda fuels his vision for the development and growth of Ayurveda, including creating and implementing high quality education and training programs in the West. It is Shekhar’s mission to bring Ayurveda to the forefront of healing arts. Shekhar began his eight-year course of study in Ayurveda, first at Nagarjuna University in Andhra Pradesh, India (1982-88) and then at Gujarat Ayurveda University in Gujarat, India (1988-91), where he earned his Doctorate Degree in Ayurveda. He is also a Licensed Integrative Bodywork and Massage Therapist (LMT) and an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E.R.Y.T.-500) with the Yoga Alliance and an instructor of therapeutic Hatha Yoga, having completed training at the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Center in India. Shekhar is also a certified Pranic Healer, a certified Reiki Healer and a certification in Energy Medicine. From 1992 – 1994, Dr. Shekhar worked as an Associate Professor at N.K.J. Ayurvedic College (Gulburga University), Bidar, Karnataka State, India. From 1994 – 2001, Shekhar has the opportunity to serve at Maharishi Vedic Schools and Universities in The Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Great Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Trinidad, Guadeloupe, Jamaica (Caribbean Island), Colombia (South America), Canada, and the U.S.A. During his extensive travels, he delivered lectures and offered consultations on Ayurveda for health professionals and for the general public. He gave several newspaper interviews and radio talks on Ayurveda and was also interviewed on BBC’s Breakfast Television. Since 2002,  Dr. Shekhar has been the Founding Director of Ojas LLC, Ayurveda Wellness Center, in Pennsylvania, USA. He is the Founder, President and Chairman of the Board of Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America (AAPNA) (www.aapna.org). He is Founding Director of Global Ayurveda Conferences, LLC, USA. Shekhar served on the Board of Directors for National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) from 2005-2010. He has taught ayurveda courses in many prestigious universities in the United States including University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), University of Medicine & Dentistry in NJ (UMDNJ), Hershey Medical School, Jefferson Medical School, University of Penn Nursing School, and others. Dr. Diana Lurie

Dr. Diana I. Lurie, Ph.D. Montana, USA - is a Professor of Neuropharmacology in the College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences at The University of Montana, Missoula, MT, USA. She received her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lurie directs a research laboratory in the area of brain development and injury, and the response of the nervous system to natural products. The laboratory is currently evaluating the ability of Bacopa monnieri, Gotu Kola, and Ashwagandha to inhibit the release of proinflammatory cytokines from activated microglia in vitro. The lab also maintains a collaboration examining the ability of curcumin to limit the brain degeneration that occurs during Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Lurie is a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and teaches neuroscience, anatomy and physiology, and courses in Ayurveda. She lectures extensively on Ayurveda and biomedical science and is the Editor-in-Chief for the Ayurveda Journal of Health (AJH).

Dr. Rammohan Rao
Dr. Rammohan Rao, Ph.D. California, USA comes from a family of ayurvedic practitioners and Vedic teachers in India tracing back to the illustrious Vedic-Acharya Rishi Kaundinya. Ram completed the academic training at the California College of Ayurveda and presently teaches in their Nevada city location. Ram is a dedicated Hatha yoga practitioner and is a R.Y.T. from Yoga Alliance USA. Ram has published several articles in major Yoga/Ayurveda journals and recently was awarded the Vagbhata Award for Excellence in Ayurvedic Teaching by AAPNA. Ram holds a doctorate degree in Neurosciences and works as a Research Associate Professor at the Buck Institute for Age Research, Novato, CA, on various aspects of age associated neuro-degenerative diseases.
Dr. Divya Selvakumar

Dr. Divya L. Selvakumar, PhD, Maryland, USA is a nutrition specialist, professor, and consultant from California, USA with over 13 years of experience in child nutrition, prenatal nutrition, general nutrition, and HIV/AIDS nutrition. Her experiences are noted in international development and global nutrition. Divya is also trained in the fields of program management, program development, research, field trainings, and materials/publication design. As part of her international travels, she has lived in Kuwait, India, Tanzania, and in the United States. Today, Divya teaches courses in nutrition and health at Montgomery College and has also completed her PhD student in Public Policy and Administration at Walden University, focusing on International NGOs. Her dissertation was based in the nation of Ethiopia and explored the relationship of a prenatal nutrition education intervention program with maternal nutrition knowledge and attitudes in two rural villages. Prior to this, Divya earned her Bachelors in Music and Biology at University of California, San Diego and her Master’s in Public Health Nutrition at Tulane University, School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Currently, Divya is the director of a new NGO, American Hindu World Service (AHWS), a 501(c) (3) registered tax exempt nonprofit which seeks to educate the American public about Hindu faith-based perspectives in global health and international development. Established in 2011, AHWS currently has been working Nigeria, Nepal and Pakistan. AHWS Nigeria promotes HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and malaria awareness in city of Lagos. In Pakistan, AHWS has supported education of poor schoolchildren, interfaith initiatives and women’s empowerment. In Nepal, AHWS has provided food, medicines and school supplies to victims of the April 2015 earthquake and has future aspirations to start a sustainable agriculture projects for farmers. AHWS gained much recognition from the UN, State Department, USAID and several international NGOs.

Dr. Shanmugamurthy Lakshmanan

Dr. Shanmugamurthy Lakshmanan, PhD., Massachusetts, USA - Dr. Shanmugamurthy Lakshmanan, PhD., is a Research Scientist at Wellman Center for Photo medicine, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts. His research focus is on Nanotechnology and Siddha- Ayurveda Photo medicine. He is a distinguished Scientific Advisor for the World Institute for Scientific Exploration and the Head of the Indian Division of Sciences. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of two peer reviewed international journals: 1) Ancient Science and 2) Ayurveda. Dr. Lakshmanan is also the Chair of the Research and Development division of the Association of the Ayurvedic Physicians of North America (AAPNA-Harvard branch). Inspired by Sage-Scientist Vethathiri Maharishi’s effort towards bridging Physics with Philosophy, he established the World Community Service Center-USA in 2005. In the past he has organized several international conferences, workshops and seminars. He also introduced ancient agriculture and food technology via community vegetable gardens and community kitchen concepts in the United States. For the past twenty years he has been working on a paradigm shift theory using Ancient Indian Science that has potential to revolutionize the education curriculum of India and eventually the whole world. As part of this study he uses a new technique called bio magnetic induction method to raise Kundalini energy. He has carried out in-vitro experiments and clinical studies on bio magnetic induction. Recently he received the Aryabhatta Award from AAPNA for his break through research in Ayurveda. Dr. Rahul Sharma

Dr. Rahul Sharma, PhD, Louisiana, USA holds PhD in Biotechnology (Life Sciences) and Diploma in Yoga Therapy from Universities in India. Dr Sharma is a classical geneticist studying the personalize medicine and differential disease susceptibility. Rahul is sharing his 15 years of basic genomics research experience to understanding the core principles of Ayurveda. His faith in healing through spirituality and Nature came from his upbringing in the family rooted in vedic values and aspect of physical well-being through advance research came later coinciding with his career as Medical Scientist. Dr. Murthy is an internationally acclaimed Ayurvedic physician and a renowned public health specialist, who is a strong advocate for bridging eastern health traditions with current evidence-based health care. Dr. Murthy is the co-founder of Ayuwave Natural Health & Wellbeing Ltd, London, UK, former head of Ayurvedic Medicine, Wellpark College of Natural Therapies, Auckland, New Zealand (2004-2014) and a researcher at the Australian Research Centre in Complementary and Integrative Medicine (ARCCIM), Sydney, Australia. Dr. Jageshwar Nath Mishra, Ph.D. (Ayurved), Lucknow, India, retired in 2004 after serving 37 yrs as Post Graduate Teacher Head and Dean Faculty of Ayurveda, Lucknow University, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has guided about 75 MD’s in ayurveda and 15 PhD scholars in ayurveda and involved in research activities achieving many milestones during this period.
